3 letters to 3 moms

To the mother who raised me,

Who could ask for a better mom? You make me laugh at the small things. You encourage me in your faithfulness to pray. You're willing to try anything. You support all my crazy ideas. And you love my father. You still find a way to celebrate each and every holiday and you make life special. You challenge me to continue growing in my faith and for that I am grateful. I love you so stinkin' much.

To the mother who raised my man,

Kuddos to you. You taught him how to treat a lady and I'm reaping the benefits. You persisted when his 12-year-old smart mouth made you want to smack him, and now he apologizes for even an inkling of a harsh tone. You showed him the importance of knowing God's Word, and now he hides it in his heart. God in His sovereignty gave him to you, and I sure am thankful.

To the mother who has given my future child life,

I don't know your name and we don't speak the same language. I may never get to see your sweet face. But know that I already hold you in such high esteem. You chose life for your child and because of that, I am eternally grateful. I grieve your pain. I grieve your circumstances and your loss. But know that your child will always be reminded of your love, and your heritage will always be celebrated. When I look at my child's smile, I'll remember the mom that carried him/her first.
